Now that you have Office 365, you also have access to five free copies of Microsoft Office applications that you can install on personal computers and mobile devices.

Important notes:

• You do not need to install it on your work computer; you already have a licensed version installed.
• These copies are part of the University’s subscription to Office 365 and are available to you as long as you are an active employee at UConn.

How to get it

Login to the Office 365 portal

1. Go to http://office365.uconn.edu/
2. Click the blue “Login to the Office 365 portal” button
3. Login using your UConn email address and NetID password

For computers…

1. Click the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
2. Select Office 365 settings from the drop down menu
3. Click on Software from the list of options
4. Click the Install
5. When prompted by the dialogue box, click Save File if you wish to continue with the installation.

Please note: You can also install the software from the portal homepage by clicking the orange Install button, but the visibility of this option depends on your start page settings.

For mobile devices…

1. From the Office 365 portal, click “Get Office on your devices.”
2. Under the heading “Want Office on your devices for free?” select the device on which you would like to install the software.
3. Then click the “Send email” or “Send text” to receive a download link from Microsoft.
